Students will be able to observe and participate during September for National Hispanic Heritage Month and Mexican Independence Day (September 16) by assembling and designing Mexican folk art mirrors in the colors of red, white and green- the Mexican flag colors. These Mexican mirrors are created in the traditional folk art method that reflect who they are and they will write thoughts about themselves on the flap to reveal their reflection.A learning objective, subject summary and application in real life, materials needed for each student and the step by step directions needed to create this lesson are all detailed in each of my lesson plans.

They will also incorporate a layering process to make a more intricate design and to practice their fine motor skills.
